Record participation marks close of 14th Shunde Expo

The three-day China (Shunde) International Exposition for Household Electrical Appliances (Shunde Expo), touted by the industry in China as the “autumn home appliances sourcing festival” came to a successful close Saturday.

Trumping last year’s performance, the 2014 event featured an unprecedented number of 693 exhibitors, with 31,711 visitors poring over finished products and components as well as new industrial design launches, techniques, materials and concepts sprawled across 50,000 square meters of show floor.

Domestic exhibitors hailed mainly from the appliance production hubs of Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shandong and Taiwan and showcased a comprehensive array of products, ranging from black, white and small appliances to kitchen and bath appliances and accessories. As a result of heightened industry demand and organizers’ plan to offer more choices for buyers, this year’s Shunde Expo saw an expanded product profile to include two new zones for healthcare appliances and audio visual equipment respectively.

Shunde Expo’s collaboration with the China Household Electrical Appliances Trade Fair(HC360), organized by online business-to-business trading platform HC360, and the China (Shunde) International Industrial Design Expo since 2013 pulled in about 31,711 buyers from various business sectors in China and abroad. Visitors to the event have rated it highly and affirmed Shunde Expo as the industry’s flagship show. This was attested by exhibitors who received various domestic buyer delegations that have descended at the trade fair to make procurements.

Mr. Huang Zhenxing, domestic marketing chief for China-based Sincere-Home, said of the event: “Our brand has been participating in Shunde Expo for many years. The number and quality of this year’s visitors is the same as last year’s, and we are quite satisfied with that. I think the organizers have done a good job in event promotion, and are attentive regarding on-site services, which I hope they will to continue to do so.”

“The Taiwan Pavilion is participating in Shunde Expo for the first time and overall, it’s been very good. Our exhibitors are satisfied with the organizers’ arrangements this year. In terms of visitor traffic, it is not inferior to large trade fairs in Guangzhou, Shanghai and other first-tier cities, for which we are quite satisfied,” said Ms. Penny Wang, Project Manager, Mainland Affairs Department, Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association.

These comments struck a chord with domestic kitchen and bath appliance maker Bock. The company’s marketing manager, Mr. Shi Baofeng, said: “This year's visitor quality is higher. In addition, there is also a larger presence of big brands, which makes it more conducive for competition and exchange within the industry and enhances the overall level of the industry. Besides, the presence of big brands can effectively attract more visitors, thereby improving visitor quality. About the show promotion, I feel that the organizers have done well.”

"This year, many regular exhibitors that have been participating for more than five consecutive years are still giving their consistent support to Shunde Expo, while new players have also injected new blood to the show. I am delighted to find that most of the exhibitors have evaluated positively to all aspects of the work done on the show suggesting that after 13 years of efforts, Shunde Expo leading role in China's home appliance industry has become more significant," said show organizer Koelnmesse GmbH’s vice president for Asia Pacific, Michael Dreyer.

A number of supporting activities including industry awards, forums and exhibitor press conferences formed part of Shunde Expo’s offerings, and enriched visitors’ experience by providing the industry's most forward-looking information. The Plug Awards, an event to recognize the industry’s best in China through people’s choice and industry assessment, handed out accolades for three main categories to a list of the top ten kitchen appliance makers, accessory suppliers, products by their respective types.

Based in Shenzhen, China, Galaxywind Network Systems Co., Ltd. hosted a launch event with the company’s chief executive officer Mr. Zengyu unveiling their new “iHome“ smart home integrated solutions system, and attracting the interest of industry buyers.

The next edition of Shunde Expo will take place in August 2015 at the Shunde Exhibition Centre. To learn more about Shunde Expo, please visit: www.shundeexpo.com
