Recognized by the industry as the best trading platform in Asia for home appliances, the China Shunde International Exposition for Household Electrical Appliances (Shunde Expo) will be held in the Shunde Exhibition Centre from 21-23 August. This year's event will continue to take place with one of China’s largest and most influential industrial design event, the China Shunde Industrial Design Expo. Space booking for Shunde Expo 2014 is already in progress, with organizer registering enthusiastic response from the trade.

Since rescheduling the event to the current show date in 2013 to better cater to the industry’s peak procurement season for autumn in China, the move has won nods from show participants with a slew of appliance powerhouses pre-committing their participation for 2014. Renowned domestic and foreign brands such as Midea, Hisense Kelon, Panasonic, Vanward, Macro and Ronshen are some of the early birds.

Appearing for the first time at the trade fair will be an exhibitor delegation from Taiwan. In addition, buyer delegations from Europe and the US are another attraction for manufacturers and suppliers.

Product categories at Shunde 2014 have been redefined to seven major groups: Selections zone, Gas Appliances, Selective Appliances, Accessories & Components, Small Appliances, Bathroom Appliances and Industrial Design. Once again, the Industrial Design zone will be a standalone showcase occupying Hall 4.

As a strategic adjustment, the independent components zone will be incorporated into the Selections zone in Hall 1 and Selective Appliances in Hall 2 respectively, for ease of sourcing for finished goods exhibitors from such components, raw materials, and electrical and mechanical suppliers directly.

Established in 2001, Shunde Expo will be in its 14th run this year. Since veteran trade fair organizer Koelnmesse’s involvement in 2008, the event has extended its regional influence to be one of Asia’s most authoritative event of its kind.

Events offerings are not limited to the conventional product showcase but include a variety of concurrent activities to foster exchange between buyers and sellers and help them grasp market trends.

2013 saw a marked improvement in the consumption attitude of the home appliances industry, with higher market shares for high-end products. This has accelerated the restructuring and upgrading of the industry with companies beginning to emphasize heavily on technological innovation, design and quality development. The central government’s policies for steady growth and restocking activities by enterprises after July 2013 stimulated the rebound of the manufacturing sector. Due to continuing government incentives, as well as favorable factors including domestic urbanization and recovery of the world economy, it is widely perceived by the industry that future opportunities will be abound.

Shunde Expo 2014 will span an area of 35,000 square meters and is expected to attract more than 600 exhibitors and over 30,000 visitors to congregate at the event.

The organizer revealed that booth allocation will commence after the Lunar New Year festivities and interested parties are urged to contact them before space runs out.
