Shunde Expo powers up with strong growth against all odds

Components Zone to be relocated between Hall 1 and 2

Exhibitor recruitment efforts have once again kicked off for this year’s China Shunde International Exposition for Household Electrical Appliances (Shunde Expo) – slated to take place from Oct 17-20 in Shunde, China – to overwhelming response from the industry despite slow market performance for two consecutive quarters.

According to a report in a domestic daily earlier this year, Director of the Cina Household Electrical Appliances Association, Jiang Feng forecast that policy-induced market fatigue phenomenon will surface and market development is expected to experience a low ebb period in the beginning of 2012 as the appliance industry's state-subsidized policies have come to an end. However, he added that the industry will pick up pace again towards the later part of the year after the implementation of follow-up policies and the effects of the low-income housing market which will further stimulate demand.

This lull period has caused manufacturers and dealers to look for new breakthroughs and Shunde Expo – with its experience in the industry for over a decade, rich exhibition resources, an unrivaled on-site transaction volume recognized by the industry, and as a powerful platform for brand promotion – seems to be just the right answer happening at the right time.

And show organizers have solid track records to boast. The last Shunde Expo attracted 509 exhibitors including Midea, THisenseTT TTKelon, Macro, Panasonic, Vanward, Canbo, Galanz, TCL, Rongsheng, Royalstar, Joyoung, Changhong Hopeful, Donlim, ROBAM, Guangdong Shenzhou, Shanghai Hongxin and Korean NUC, and drew 25,310 visitors from around the world – records unbroken by any other trade fairs of its kind in China.

A spokesperson revealed that efforts made over the years both at home and abroad have resulted in valuable resources accumulated in the form of contacts and the trust built with the industry, which sees many exhibitors participating since Shunde Expo’s inception.

He added: “Shunde Expo provides enterprises with an increasing number of business opportunities. The flourishing and development of China's home appliance market is the industry's future overall trend, and under this premise, market fluctuations as a result of occasional international market and policy adjustments are normal. Regardless how the market changes, mature household electrical appliance enterprises should learn to steadily accumulate their own business resources in order to ensure that they continue to win more future opportunities. In this respect, Shunde Expo provides precisely the broadest business platform for cooperation and the most professional quality service to connect manufacturers and distributors.”

As part of the value-added events, participants can expect the return of the widely popular Touchstone Awards, Small Home Appliances Forum and Living Kitchen. This year, the show will also see the Components Zone being relocated to a temporary hall erected at the area leading from Hall 1 to Hall 2 and 3 to attract more visitors. With that, the scale of the event will reach 30,000 square-meters and is expected to host over 550 exhibitors and 25,000 trade buyers.

The 12th edition of Shunde Expo is hosted by the local Shunde government, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME), the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Province Committee (CCPIT GD) and Koelnmesse.
